The Hoover Dam

If Vegas lives the bright nights, it is because of the Hoover Dam (which supplies electricity). But how can there be water in a desert to create a dam. Until one witness there is no way one can agree to it. Once one starts cruising towards Hoover dam, one can witness unbelievable landscapes. One wonders, how can there be land so dry.
