Lanes beyond Vasco da Gama’s Kozhikode

When ever I have heard of this place ‘Kozhikode’, I never knew or bothered to know where the hell this place is. All what remained in my mind was what I needed to know to get some marks in my history papers, ‘Vasco-de-gama’s set foot in Calicut (in malayalam known as Kozhikode), Kerala in 1494’ or some year like that.
