Checking if Remote Works

How do you check if the remote is working or not? When I say that, I mean there is no system near you and still you want to check if the system's remote is working. All you need to have is a camera. Even the mobile camera would do to check if the remote is working.Take the remote and view it under the camera with the LED of the remote facing the camera as shown below. Then press any of the remote
